If your Global Pay account was set up before May 2025, you fund each payrun after it starts. We email you the amount to send, and payments go out once your funds arrive.
If you get a funding notification email after each payrun, this article is for you.
Note: Accounts set up from May 2025 onward fund before each payrun. See Global Pay Overview and Global Pay Funding.
Availability: Available with Global Pay, for accounts set up before May 2025
How it works
- The payrun starts on your payrun date and picks up every scheduled invoice.
- We email you a funding notification with how many people you're paying, the total to fund, and the wire details.
- You send the funding by the second business day after the payrun starts. For a Friday payrun, that's Tuesday.
- Payments go out once your funds arrive. Until then, invoices show Processing. They move to In flight when the payment is sent.
Funding late? If your funding arrives after Tuesday, your payments stay in Processing until it lands, and we'll get in touch.
If you pay invoices in more than one currency
The final amount to fund depends on exchange rates, so we confirm it on the business day after the payrun starts, once the currency is bought. We then send you a Currency Trades and Funding Report: a spreadsheet with the exchange rates used and the amount to fund in your funding currency.
Wait for the report before you send anything, then send the total on it. It uses the rates we actually got, so there's no buffer to add.
Sending your funding
Send your funding by wire transfer. Use the wire (ABA) routing number from your funding notification, and put the reference number at the start of the memo. The reference is how Moneycorp matches your wire to your account.
Avoid ACH transfers. They usually drop the reference, so Moneycorp can't match your funds to your account right away, and your payments wait.
Your wire details and reference stay the same for every payrun, so you can save them as a template in your bank.
Who gets the funding emails
The funding notification and the Currency Trades and Funding Report go to the people you chose when your account was set up. To change who receives them, contact the Payment Operations team.
Automated funding withdrawals
If your account is set up for automated withdrawals (reverse wire or ACH debit), Moneycorp pulls the funding for each payrun directly from your bank account. There's nothing to send, even if you get a funding notification.
If a pull fails, for example because your bank rejects it, we'll contact you to sort it out.
To set up reverse wire, you need to fund in USD from a US bank account. Setup takes a one-time authorization from your bank and a $1 test pull. See Automated Pay Run Funding Withdrawals.
